At 16, Katherine saw Lady Gaga in concert. “It was like a spiritual experience,” she told EW, “I was so moved by her performance that I went home and that week I taught myself how to play piano.” During her final year of high school, she became more interested in music and acting, and chose to pursue acting full-time after high school.

At first, Katherine wanted to keep her social media accounts private. She didn’t want the amount of followers she had to increase her chances of getting roles, for she wanted to be hired purely for her skill as an actress.

In a Q & A on Young Hollywood’s Youtube Channel, Katherine Langford admitted that she had a crush on Orlando Bloom as Legolas in “The Lord of the Rings” from a very young age. “I was six years old and I was like… you.”

To prep for the scene in which Bryce sexually assaults Hannah in a hot tub, she spoke to a psychiatrist to understand what her character might be thinking and feeling in the moment.

The Misguided, an Australian flick about a young man who has to betray his girlfriend to save his brother’s life, debuts later this year. In 2018, she acts opposite Jennifer Garner in Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda, about a gay teen who comes out to his classmates.

Filming 13 Reasons Why was heavy work, so to unwind, she’d relax in front of a feel-good comedy. “I watched a lot of The Office,” she said.
